Five Steps to More Prosperity in 2013

Are you ready to shift the energy in your world? Are you ready for better relationships, more prosperity? If yes, try using Feng Shui principles.

Feng Shui is a lifestyle that is all about shifting energy in your life and surroundings to create an improved, more prosperous life. You may call it goal setting or making New Year’s resolutions but what you are really doing is shifting the energy in your surroundings and within to something that is more closely aligned with your goals.

A Simple Feng Shui Formula

Feng Shui need not be complicated or a mysterious science. It is not a religion or art form. It is simply living a lifestyle that maximizes things, thoughts and people to provide positive uplifting encouraging energy in your surroundings while minimizing, or even eliminating, that which gives you negative energy. This energy-shifting formula will help you make some of your changes. To remember it, simply jot it on a sticky note and put it on your refrigerator or computer.

CSS + TP = BS.

The formula stands for Color, Shape and Sound plus Thoughts and People equals a Balanced Self, and is at the foundation of Feng Shui thought. Almost everything in your world consists of colors, shapes and sounds plus your self-talk within and the people in your life. The things in your surroundings (such as your house, bedroom or car) and your thoughts (the ones that run constantly in your mind) provide you a balanced self that is productive and prosperous or an unbalanced self that is always falling short of desires and expectations. If you eliminate the things, thoughts and people that serve you poorly by creating negative energy and replace them with ones that energize you and your world, you will experience a more prosperous and joy-filled 2013.

Five Steps to More Prosperity in 2013

Take control with color. When a home or office has too many somber or dark colors, discouragement and depression can enter. Energize your surroundings by using brighter and lighter colors. If the colors are too bright or too loud, you can feel hyper, out of sorts and argumentative so use quieter, softer or more pastel colors to lower the energy level. Simple changes like these will lift your spirits and mood, plus help you be more productive and in control of your life.

Make shapes work for you. Hard straight lines in furniture and hallways dramatically increases the speed of energy as it moves through your surroundings making you feel edgy, distant and even detached. Add softness with pillows, draperies, throws and area rugs or softer furniture. Curving soft lines of upholstered furniture, pictures with gentle streams and fabric window treatments slow energy down as it meanders through your surroundings. On the other hand, too much softness can make you lethargic so you become unproductive; add hard edges and straight lines to your furnishings for balance. Create a more efficient and effective comfort zone by making the shapes work for you.

Use sound to create balance. Evaluate your surroundings for noise pollution. Then develop a strategy for creating an atmosphere conducive to reducing stress while boosting productivity and creativity. Noise pollution bombards a home or office 24/7 externally in the form of loud equipment, traffic, or sirens and internally through television, radio, air conditioners/furnaces and florescent lighting. In addition we now have portable devices like cell phones or music players that interrupt one’s quiet time or thinking. Noise pollution is a great stressor. Eliminate as much as possible from your life to calm your environment. Then add peaceful music that generates a productive or calming environment depending on your needs at that moment.

Personal thoughts create your future. Everything you think, say and do matters because that is how you create the tomorrow you want. Surround yourself with positive uplifting thoughts to create positive uplifting energy. When you bombard yourself with negative thoughts, you will be filled with negative, depressed, “can’t do” thinking. A constant internal loop of negative self-talk creates low or no productivity and prosperity; a constant positive loop of self-talk creates the tomorrow of your dreams.

Choose people in your life wisely. The people in your daily surroundings must be supportive not destructive. They may not intentionally be destructive but their attitude can so negative that it destroys your confidence and devastates your hopes and dreams. Evaluate all of the people you come into regular contact with to determine whether they provide uplifting positive energy and encouragement or are always filled with a negative defeatist attitude. You must be in control of yourself, which sometimes means making tough choices about eliminating the

negative people from your immediate surroundings. You do not necessarily need to totally remove them from your life but significantly reduce the amount of time you spend with them. Surround yourself with positive uplifting and encouraging people and they will help you create a better tomorrow.

This Feng Shui formula CSS + TP = BS and the five steps above can help you create more balance in your life, greatly improve the positive energy in your surroundings and significantly improve your odds at being more successful in 2013. Use the formula to create your action plan today and get started.
