Creativity as a Spiritual Practice: A Simple Way Back to the Creator

When was the last time you did something creative just because it made you feel good? Maybe you painted, gardened, cooked, played music, decorated a room, or made something with your hands. We tend to think of creativity as something only artists do, but what if creativity is actually one of the ways we reconnect with the Creator? Understanding creativity as a spiritual practice changes everything about how we approach the things we make.

How I Discovered Creativity as a Spiritual Practice

Years ago, creativity became an important part of my own spiritual journey. When I began painting, something unexpected happened. I focused on the canvas, the colors, and the movement of the brush, but my busy mind became quiet. And in that quiet, I began to hear the Creator's voice.

Years later, during my conversations with Thoth, I came to understand that experience differently. Thoth tells me the easiest way for humanity to find its way back to the Creator is through creativity.

Creativity Isn't Reserved for Artists

What I love about this teaching is that creativity isn't reserved for artists. It can be painting or music, but it can also be cooking, gardening, writing, knitting, sewing, or making something with your hands. Creativity isn't about how talented you are. It's about what happens within you while you're creating.

That's what happened to me. Painting quieted my thinking mind. I became present, my heart opened, and I listened.

Try This Simple Practice This Week

So this week, try something very simple: create. It doesn't matter if you're "good" at it. No one else needs to ever see what you create. And it certainly doesn't have to be perfect. Simply choose something that quiets your busy mind and opens your heart center. Don't try to force everything to become spiritual. Just create.

You may discover that when your mind becomes quiet, there is something within you waiting for you to listen to.

A Doorway to the Creator

For me, painting began as a simple creative expression. I eventually discovered it was also a doorway to the Creator. Perhaps yours will be completely different, but you won't know until you create.
