Do it Now, Don’t Wait

Do you feel like you’ve entered the Twilight Zone of the holidays and from now until January 2, 2007? Are you finding that no one wants to deal with anything new or make decisions? Is that the unintentional message you give to and receive from people when transacting business, buying a new home, investing in the market or making even the simplest of decisions over the next several weeks?

If yes, that means in this holiday period you are giving up almost 9% of your decision making, income producing and activity generating productive time. If you can’t get someone to close a deal or move forward on a project then take time to review the past year to see what still needs to be accomplished in the last several weeks of this year. Or, start aggressively planning for the new year. If you can’t get one handyman to do necessary or wanted repairs around the home then find another one.

It doesn’t matter if you apply this thought process to your home or the workplace. By thinking of the last six weeks of the year as a Twilight Zone you are planning for negative energy to take over your life and being out of control. These could be the best, most productive and happiest weeks of the year if you don’t wait and take action. Stop procrastinating and get busy. “Do it now.”

Every day we live is a gift and we can choose to use it to be productive and surround ourselves with positive energy or we can choose to waste it. In Feng Shui a basic principle is “Everything you say, think and do matters.” If you choose to be productive you will positively energize your day. If you choose to waste a day, you are exchanging it for a day of your life.

Too often people in business as well as in their personal lives think, “Well, the holidays are coming and no one will want to listen to a great new business proposal, buy a house or be looking for a new idea on how to develop a better, more effective business plan for the new year.” Or, “I’ll just wait until after the holidays to make a decision about getting the kitchen counters re-surfaced, replace old worn out carpeting or putting a fresh coat of paint in the bedroom.”

Procrastinating and indecision puts your life on hold creating stagnant energy and is what is often called the “winter doldrums” or the “Holiday Twilight Zone.” Deciding to put your life or your business on hold until after the holidays is giving up total control of your life, creating stagnant energy and exchanging each precious day of your life just to wait. Wait for what; another busy day, a holiday party, a possible phone call from a client or a repair person that may or may not show up?

Plan now to use all of these precious days ahead to create positive energy in your world. If the holiday season is important to you then start your plans now so you can slowly accomplish your holiday activities in conjunction with your daily activities, not exchange it for a day of your life. If the holidays find you in a ”business as usual” mode then make the most of the days ahead. Surround yourself with positive energy and positively motivated people and move forward now, not six or eight weeks from now.

It really is as simple as “Everything you say, think and do matters.” Every day you are in control and productive you are surrounding yourself with positive energy. There are no magic lists or formulas, just a “Do it now” positive energy thought process. Are you willing exchange a day of your life by putting it on hold and wasting it? If not, chose to “Do it now” and live by the philosophy “Everything you say, think and do really does matter.”
