Eliminate Structural Flaws that Create Imbalance

Structural flaws are found in every house whether it was just built in the newest most prestigious development, is a solid home that dates back to the middle of the last century or is on the historic register. The flow of energy creating balance and harmony in a home is often relegated to the circular file in lieu of cosmetic niceties and the latest home design trends.

According to Feng Shui principles, it is the flow of positive energy throughout the entire house that breathes life into good health, abundance and wealth so a family can prosperous and experience joy. More often than not, floor plans do not provide an easy path for energy to move gently throughout every room before exiting out the back. Because each area of your home energizes various areas of your life it is important that you become aware of just what parts of your home energy misses completely and where is gets stuck and becomes stagnant. Once you find them, fix them.

How to Fix Five Common Flaws

Most of the common flaws are easily fixable and when corrected, will make a significant difference in the energy flow of your house and in your personal well-being.

The FLOOR PLAN layout of your home or its footprint on your property is where you begin. If it is anything other than square or rectangular the circular flow of energy throughout is inhibited. For example, if your house is L or U shaped you are missing certain energy areas of your home. For the L shaped home, locate the corner where the two non-existent walls would have met, making it rectangular. Plant some tall trees in that area or place an outdoor light that shines directly upward to create a faux corner that will act as an anchor for the two missing walls. For the U shaped house you can connect the two legs of the U by adding a row of plantings or outdoor garden lights across the non-existent wall area or connect it with a deck. By energizing these missing areas you will complete the flow of energy in all segments of your home.

A BATHROOM located directly opposite the front door no matter how convenient, is a major energy drainer for anyone that enters or lives there. And, if it also is in the center of your home, it will upset the balance and energy flow throughout the home because the energy that just entered your home will literally go straight into the bathroom and right down the drain. Be sure to always keep the door to the bathroom closed as well as the drains shut and the toilet lid down to prevent any loss of energy.

LONG DARK NARROW HALLWAYS were very common in older houses. It is difficult for energy to meander slowly down such hallways as well as unsafe for adults and children to walk down them. From a safety perspective, always keep such hallways lit, even during the daytime to prevent accidents. The lighting will also encourage energy to move down the hallway. However, to prevent energy from rushing down the hallway and going right past rooms along the way, use a rug runner with gently curving shapes or hang pictures at various heights along the walls to slow it down. You can even stencil a scrollwork pattern on the walls as a faux chair rail.

STAIR CASES whether beautiful and circular, straight as an arrow or split that aim right at or away from the front door confuse energy when it first enters your home, not knowing whether to go up the stairs, down the stairs or gently meander on the main floor. Even worse, the energy that is upstairs comes rushing down the stairs and right out the front door taking with it that much needed vitalizing energy that generates prosperity and abundance. To eliminate the confusion about where the energy should go upon entering use a circular rug or a circular pattern in the foyer area flooring to help diffuse the energy allowing it time to move slowly off into all areas of the home whether up or down. You can also use a 35mm multifaceted crystal hanging from a light fixture or the ceiling in this area to give the energy multiple directions to follow. To prevent the energy from rushing down the stairway out the front door, place a mirror on the inside of the door to reverse the flow of the energy. A shiny door plate behind the door knob will work equally well.

CEILING BEAMS are charming especially for that Old English, rustic or log cabin look but the energy is very negative for those sitting or sleeping under them as it bears down on the room. The cutting 90 degree edges create further negative energy and discomfort when pointing at a portion of your body. No, you don’t have to remove them but you can remove their negative energy by painting them the same color of the ceiling and have them literally melt right into the ceiling.

If your home really feels great upon entering and walking through each room, you probably do not have structural problems. But, upon a closer look, if you discover some uncomfortable areas, take time and study the structure carefully, then take action. Living with negative energy creates negative results in the prosperity, health and abundance areas of your life. Eliminate them so you can prosper and enjoy life abundantly.
