Structural Flaws Improve with Feng Shui

Does your floor plan have you baffled because the flow of energy and people is poor? Do you wonder if negative energy is affecting your sleep because you live on a busy corner or at the end of a cul-de-sac? Is it possible that great energy is reaching your front door but flies right out the back as soon as it enters?

These are the types of structural or floor plan dilemmas that Feng Shui is really great at helping you fix. Often when you purchase or rent a home you will notice basic flaws and wonder “is there something that can be done to make it better.” Feng Shui isn’t a band-aid to just fix things but it really can help overcome flaws built into existing structures.

Should You Fix Them?

Many listeners and readers often ask, “Should I fix them, will it really make a difference.” Or, “I live at the end of a cul-de-sac, are all those lights coming toward my house bad energy? What can I do about it, I can’t move the street?” The answer is, yes you can and should fix such energy problems because they are causing you great discomfort by interrupting your sleep, sending negative energy to cause minor mishaps or causing challenging health issues to appear. And no, you do not have to move the street or your house – there are Feng Shui principles that will help you deal with such problems.

Five Feng Shui Remedies

Some of the most common structural problems outside and inside the home include negative energy aiming at your home from streets and neighboring structures; hidden front doors so positive energy cannot reach your front door and energy that either zooms right through your home upon entering or doesn’t know where to go. The suggestions below will go a long way toward greatly removing your energy flaws.

  1. To prevent negative energy from bombarding your home at the end of a cul-desac or at the end of a busy street, plant a hedge or a row of trees to deflect the lights and energy from cars. It will lessen the noise pollution as well. You can also use a large boulder, a large water fountain placed in the line of the negative energy or even a lovely landscaped grouping of all three items.

  2. Once you’ve closely observed your neighborhood and have discovered the corners of other homes or buildings pointing directly at your home sending you negative energy, you can deflect that energy by hanging a multifaceted 35mm round crystal inside a window closest to where the negative energy is directly hitting your home. Just as a prism disperses light into many colors, a multifaceted crystal disperses energy into many directions, all away from your home.

  3. If energy cannot find your front door because the plantings are very overgrown or there are no plantings the remedy is quite simple. Prune the plantings first if they are overgrown then add colorful border plants leading the eye and energy to your front door. If your door is on the side of your home use border plants to lead the way to the door. You can also add a small tasteful outdoor lawn decoration leading or pointing the way to your door. It does not matter if that is the door you regularly use, that is the official front door of your home and must be energized.

  4. Once energy reaches your front door, it is important to notice what happens to it after it enters. Does it linger and meander throughout your home before leaving through the back or does it shoot right through a window or sliding door directly opposite the entrance? Lingering energy is great but if it shoots right through it is thought to take right with it any prosperity, abundance and good health it was bringing into your home. To prevent energy from zooming through your home you can do any of the following: place a circular rug in your entryway to encourage energy to follow the round pattern and circle throughout your home; place a sofa in the direct path of the energy to force it to turn in a different direction; or, use rug runners to visually shift the directional movement of the energy into different areas of the home.

  5.  If you open your front door and there is a wall directly opposite the door you have the reverse problem. The energy does not know where to go and stops or goes right back out. This is not the place to put a mirror as it will send the energy right back out the door it just came in. You can place a lovely landscape picture on that wall to help welcome the energy and move it through; you can also put something clever on the wall such as an arrow showing energy and guests the direction they need to go; or if there is a room for a small table you can place something on the table that would act as a directional signal such as a tropical fish, a duck decoy or a sculpture looking or pointing the right direction.

Structural flaws occur all the time and are really quite easy to overcome so energy can both enter your home as well as meander throughout, bringing with it all of that much desired prosperity, abundance and good health.
